Pratt and Whitney Power Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work within the Organic Rankine Cycle power generation product group. This individual will work within a dynamic team of mechanical, applications and systems engineers to design, verify, and document electrical controls and power distribution systems for our products including the PureCycleże Model 280 and the ORC units provided by Turboden. This qualified individual will also work with potential customers and utilities on installation and applications of ORC units in the field. Support will also be required for the aftermarket team to ensure operational success in the field for activities including diagnostics and failure analysis.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
M.S. in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in product development in a related field familiarity with various codes and standards such as, UL , NFPA70 and CE requirements is a must.
- The candidate shall have the ability to work safely with high voltage systems in the field is required.
- Electrical system level design, testing and certification with understanding of design to NEC, UL508 IEEE1547, UL 1741and IEEE519.
- Power distribution & protection (Low voltage DC, 120/208Vac and medium voltage AC) at power levels from 0.3 to 30 MW.
- Understanding of EMC design and grounding principles.
- Familiarity with industry electrical standards - UL, NEC, IEC.
- Familiarity with sensors, transducers, power plant instrumentation, Variable Speed Drives/ Inverters.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required to create 1 and 3 line electrical documents per standard process is preferred.
- Ability to lead project tasks as necessary.
- Candidate should be able to communicate effectively while following Pratt & Whitney processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a flexible growth environment.
- Experience in electric utility interconnection of power generation equipment is preferred.
