Pratt & Whitney is seeking a qualified candidate with exceptional leadership skills and strategic thinking to manage the Air Systems Design and Integration team within the Systems Engineering organization. This position reports to the Director, Mechanical Disciplines and has responsibility for the systems level design and analysis of turbomachinery internal (secondary) flow across all Commercial and Military Engine product lines, throughout all phases of the product life cycle (concept through in-service support). Key responsibilities of this organization's function include design / analysis / validation of;
-Turbine cooling and leakage distributions
-Main shaft bearing axial loads
-Bearing compartment buffer flows and temperatures
-Internal cavity environmental conditions (pressure, temperature)
-Engine cooling air supply systems
-Engine / aircraft thermal management systems
This is a supervisory role managing approximately 40 engineering professionals with administrative duties that encompass employee performance coaching / assessment, salary merit distribution, training, and accountability for budget and schedule performance.
-Minimum qualifications include BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
-MS CFD preferred
-15+ years experience in relevant field and / or industry.
In addition to meeting minimum qualifications, the preferred candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate people. Experience with airframers and elements of major certification requirements with regulatory agencies (FAA, EASA) a plus.
